RIAS travel insurance optional extras
Sometimes, you might find a standard policy isn't enough for your personal needs or the nature of your trip.
If that's the case, you can enhance your policy with an add-on. Let's take a look at them:
Cruise cover
If you're planning a cruise, a standard policy won't cover the risks that come with taking a cruise. Enhance your policy with a cruise add-on. It'll be able to cover you for the risks linked to cruises. For example, reimbursement for excursions missed due to your ship not docking at a port. Or, being confined to your cabin because of sickness.
Golf cover
Going golfing? Add golf cover to your policy. This covers you for golf-related problems. For example, accidental loss, damage or theft of your golf equipment.
Winter sports cover
If you're going skiing or snowboarding, you'll want to consider winter sports cover. It can cover you for the unique problems associated with alpine holidays. For example, a lost ski pass, or lost, damaged or stolen equipment.
Gadget cover
Are you travelling with expensive electronics? If you are, you might want to consider a gadget extension add-on. As standard, you can usually get up to £750 for accidental or malicious damage, loss or theft. But, with a gadget extension this amount can increase up to £3000. To be sure, it's worth checking your policy wording to find out exactly what's covered and the limits for each type of gadget.
Car hire excess insurance
If you're hiring a car, the 'excess' is the cost you agree to pay if it gets damaged and you make a claim. With a car hire excess add-on, you can be reimbursed for the cost of any excess you need to pay.
