Our services

Confused.com is not a broker - we are a price comparison service that can be used to find out whether you could save money on a range of insurance or other services or products. We currently compare prices for car, van, home, travel, life and motorbike insurance, utility providers for gas and electric, financial products for loans and credit cards and many more products.

As part of our price comparison service for insurance products we offer an option for you to make a request, through us, to cancel the automatic renewal of an existing policy. This service is currently limited to providers of some insurance products that have agreed to participate in this service. If the option to request automatic renewal cancellation is not available to you, it will not be included when you compare insurance products. This service is not available separately from our price comparison service. For Confused.com to make a request for cancelation of automatic renewal you must:

  • Identify the product provider that is due to renew your policy. (The product provider being; the insurance intermediary or broker, insurer or distributor from which you purchased the policy.)
  • Ensure that your personal details and the date of your renewal, are identical to those held by the product provider identified.

Our website and price comparison technology has been designed to allow private individuals or businesses seeking products on their own behalf to find the most competitive prices from the leading UK product and service providers online. Therefore, you may only use our service if you are:

  • A private individual wanting to use our website and price comparison technology to find competitive prices for a product or service on your own behalf and/or on behalf of a close family member; or
  • Acting on behalf of a company wanting to use our website and price comparison technology to find competitive prices a product or service on behalf of the company; and
  • Not involved in any way in searching for insurance, financial services or any other products listed on our website, as a business.

Your responsibility

In order to get a quote through our price comparison service, you will need to answer a number of questions on our site needed by all the different product or service providers and any intermediaries they may use. The answers you give will determine the products or services available to you and amount you will pay. You must get permission from any other people whose details you propose to use in requesting a quote, before you provide us with any of their information. This applies to all information that you provide, but especially sensitive data like health information or criminal proceedings or convictions. In submitting any other person's details, you are confirming to us that you have their permission to do so, and that they understand how their information will be used. Where our services allow you to look up data (for example, using house number and postcode to get property information), you may only use the service if all parties whose data you are searching agree. If you do not have this consent then you must not use the service.

You are solely responsible to ensure that you answer all questions honestly and that all information you enter onto Confused.com is true, accurate and complete. If you do not do this, it could lead to your selected product later increasing in price, becoming invalid or claims not being paid. If you ask us to make a request to your existing product provider to cancel the automatic renewal of your existing policy, it is likely that your request will not be possible if the information you provide is not accurate. We cannot be held responsible if this happens.

As we work with a large number of providers it is important that you read the provider’s terms and conditions, and that you agree with them before purchasing your product or service as they will differ to ours. Once you have purchased a product, it is important that you check your details match those you provided to us.  You should also read all documents issued to you by your selected provider and ensure that you are aware of any levels of cover, financial limits and any other terms that apply. If any information is not correct, it is your responsibility to identify the mistake and correct this with the provider directly.

Price delivery

Companies change their prices and amend their rates on a regular basis. The price quoted to you will be accurate at the time of issue, and may change if your quote is resubmitted. As part of our service, we will send you an electronic confirmation of your prices, which could be via email, SMS or app.  Remember, you will receive the same guarantee from the product or services provider as you would have received from them by going direct. If you use our used car valuation service, we will also send you an email confirming the results for your reference.

Van customers- If you use our service to complete a van insurance quote and we are unable to return any, or very few quotes, we may pass your details to our partner, Commercial Vehicle Direct Insurance Services so they may call you to discuss your requirements.
