Who is Marshmallow?
Marshmallow is a young, software-based company part-founded in 2018 by two identical twins aiming to be a force for good. They say their mission is all about fairness, speed and inclusivity with a particular focus on reducing prices for overseas clients using new pricing technologies.
The two co-founding siblings, Oliver and Alexander Kent-Braham, say bespoke algorithms and other formulae price overseas driver policies. When pricing a quote the UK insurance industry relies on tried-and-tested driver UK records and history. Instead, Marshmallow also pulls in international data for a fuller and fairer picture.
Marshmallow’s business focus has now shifted to all UK nationals at risk of being over-charged for car insurance, particularly younger drivers and those with an inconsistent driving history or low credit score.
Marshmallow has grown quickly and by the end of 2022 it was valued at over £1.01 billion, having sold over 100,000 policies.
All Marshmallow policies are handled via the web or their app. Customers can manage and make changes to their insurance themselves, free of charge, without having to phone their insurer.
Marshmallow's live chat team available 7 days a week to answer your questions.
