Admiral car insurance policy details
Admiral offers a selection of car insurance policies and types. Not all policies and types are available through our site, so the exact levels of cover and benefits may vary. Before buying car insurance, we recommend checking the cover and benefits.
Admiral offers 3 levels of car insurance:
Third party only: This is the minimum level of cover required to drive on UK roads. This level of cover protects you if an accident involving your car injures someone. It'll also cover you for damage to someone else's property.
Third party fire and theft: This level covers you for everything included with third party insurance, plus damage to your vehicle caused by fire or theft.
Comprehensive: This is the highest level of cover you can get. It includes all the benefits of third party, fire and theft but also provides cover if an accident damages your car. There are four tiers of comprehensive insurance on offer:
- Essential
- Admiral
- Gold
- Platinum
Essential includes repairs if an accident damages your car. It also provides up to £5,000 of cover for injury or death due to an accident.
Admiral covers everything included with an Essential policy, as well as new vehicle replacement if yours is less than 12 months old and written off following an accident or theft. It also includes personal belongings and windscreen cover.
Gold offers the same cover as Admiral, with enhanced personal belongings cover, motor legal protection, and cover for travel expenses should you need to pay for transport following an accident.
Platinum is the highest level of comprehensive cover and provides the same cover as a Gold policy, plus breakdown cover.
Admiral also offers a telematics, or black box, policy with Littlebox. This type of policy tends to be popular with younger drivers who typically have higher insurance costs. It records your driving behaviour and gives you a score based on how safely you drive. The better your score, the lower your insurance costs could at renewal.
