Methodology
-
Confused.com collated information on the number of food options, coffee shop, retail shops, parking spaces, EV charging points and provided a ‘score’ for each based on the total number. This was then averaged to provide an ‘index’ score. Where these numbers were different for Northbound / Southbound / Eastbound / Westbound locations, the higher number has been used.
-
Food, coffee and retail shop details all taken from service stations individual websites
-
Parking space availability taken from service station websites. Where these were unavailable, parking spaces numbers were taken from Parkopedia. Where these numbers were different for Northbound / Southbound / Eastbound / Westbound locations, the higher number has been used.
- EV charging points all taken from ZapMap, correct as of July 2024. Where these numbers were different for Northbound / Southbound / Eastbound / Westbound locations, the higher number has been used.
-
Research carried out by One Poll on behalf of Confused.com of 2,000 UK adults. This was conducted between 13 and 16 June 2024.
